Although being able to recognise hieroglyphs in an image is pretty amazing, it allows us to do more than just retrieving translation an background information. To this end we are currently investigating the ability of a quest edition for TombReader in collaboration with the Allard Pierson museum in Amsterdam. The goal is such that children will be able to start a quest through the museum, in which all the clues are written in hieroglyphs. With TombReader they will be able to translate these hieroglyphs. The quest could serve either an educational purpose, or it could be a fictional story about collecting magical spells to awaken an ancient mummy such that anyone can imagine being Indiana Jones for a day.
